Day 31 : It's Within You

May 31, 2023

When He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them, “The kingdom of God is not coming with something observable; no one will say, ‘See here!’ or ‘There!’  For you see, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”     - Luke 17:20-21

At one time or another, we have all found ourselves looking for our sunglasses that are on top of our head or looking for our phone when it is in our pocket.  Sometimes we are looking for things that we already have in our possession.  How often do we do this with the things of heaven?  In the above passage, the portion translated in your midst, literally means within or inside of you.  The kingdom of God -- the kingdom of God is inside of you!  Jesus has finished His work.  His work is so complete that He has actually taken a seat in heaven and has placed His kingdom inside of you.  So now what do we do?  We discover!  The life of a believer is one of continual increase in knowledge and understanding in things that have been finished.  The great news is, we have been given the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth.  He is continually revealing to us the mysteries of all that the accomplishment of Jesus has won for us, and all of this can be found in the pages of His Word.

Additional Scripture:

The mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints... Christ in you, the hope of glory.     - Colossians 1:26-27

His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.     - 2 Peter 1:3

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.     - 2 Corinthians 3:18

Prayer: Father. I thank You that You withhold nothing from those that walk in Your light.  Thank You for giving us richly all things to enjoy. My heart and mind are forever open to Your revelation, and I place myself willfully in the light of Your Word. Amen
