Day 29 : The Practice of Hospitality

May 29, 2023

“Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.”     - Romans 12:13

What does hospitality look like in our day to day lives?  I once thought that being hospitable meant to have guests come to my perfectly decorated, clean home and serve a beautiful and tasty meal, but it really isn’t about those things.  The truth is, hospitality is not an activity, it’s an opportunity to be the love of Jesus and allow others to experience His presence.   When we have sat at His table and feasted, we then have everything we need to practice hospitality because His love, truth, grace and peace will just pour out through us.  Then we are able to take His love and presence to the soccer field, the grocery store, our workplace, the park or our homes.  It is about seeing people and sharing the love of Jesus with those that are in our path each day.

Questions to consider:

1. Are there creative ways we can practice hospitality as a family?

2. Are there any spiritual, physical or emotional roadblocks that are keeping us from incorporating hospitality in our daily lives?  Let's ask the Lord to reveal these to us.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, that I don’t have to practice hospitality but I get to.  Lord, give me the courage to be brave, and to see others and be willing to love on them in real and practical ways.
