Day 25 : Show Me Your Ways

May 25, 2023

Show me your ways. Lord, teach me your paths.     - Ps 25:4

He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way.       - Ps 25:9

Life can be a struggle sometimes. We sometimes feel isolated, convinced we are the only ones dealing with the problems that life brings. It seems like a maze with sudden turns, drops and dead ends. In these moments we want to be delivered from our troubles. We want someone else to do the heavy lifting to deliver us from our trouble.

In the 23rd Psalm, David realizes that he sometimes finds himself walking through the darkest of valleys yet realizes that God is with him and guiding him with His rod and staff. God is with him as he walks thru this valley. In the 25th Psalm he understands that he must go God’s way, His path. God will be with him and beside him when he chooses to walk with God and not walk away from Him. David also realizes that he must humble himself before God so he can learn from Him what is the right and true path to take.

In our struggles we may take the wrong path or just run into a brick wall. But, we are not alone as we go thru this dark valley. We should humble ourselves before God, and perhaps before other people, and ask God to show us His way, His paths. Listen as He guides in what is right and teaches His way. We are not alone.

Questions to consider:

  1. Am I asking God to pick me up out of the dark valley and set me down in green pastures or am I am I asking God to walk with me and show me a path out of this valley?
  2. In what areas am I allowing my pride to get in the way of God guiding and teaching me?
